What positive changes would you make in the Department of Labor to benefit the taxpayers?
Georgia’s current Labor Department must evolve from its antiquated 19th century mentality into the technology driven approach of the 21st century. As Labor Commissioner, I will transform the office from a reactive office, dealing with unemployment, into a proactive one. We must focus on new ways to train our future and current workforce to enable them to compete in this 21st century global economy. I will utilize our resources to better coordinate with other state agencies, particularly when it comes to administering unemployment benefits. It is imperative that we eliminate fraud which directly affects taxpaying Georgia businesses.
